HOW I MET MY BOYFRIEND WITH CUSTOM CAR FRESHENERS

Life was good. At 23 I had finished college and got a great design job in a new city. I was slowly furnishing my first apartment with Ikea and family castoffs. I'd gone from jeans to business suits. The only thing I hadn't changed was my car. I was still driving my used 1986 Firebird that my father gave me when I graduated from high school. I loved that car, and I couldn't afford a new car anyway.

I'd heard about custom car fresheners from a co-worker who put photos of his art on them for family and friends and had also used them for a fundraiser for the little league team he coached. He said people should express themselves in all areas of their lives. He wondered how anyone could he be so unimaginative as to use a grocery store green tree air freshener! He was right. I had always hid mine under the car seat.

I loved the idea and had custom car fresheners made with my zodiac sign, my favorite quote, my favorite flower, my favorite fountain in the park across the street and my favorite jokes. It was so easy and so much fun to express my personality with custom car fresheners. I uploaded my designs, got to select the shape, color, text and fragrance. Usually, in less than a week, I had my fresheners. I have Christmas designs on my custom car fresheners and give them for my Christmas cards. It's so easy even my grandmother does it now.

One morning when I was walking to my car, a cute guy in the next building walked out at the same time. He mentioned how he had enjoyed seeing the different air fresheners and had wondered who owned the car. We bumped into each other several more times, and then one day he asked me how he could get custom car fresheners. He was in a band, and had fresheners made with their PR photos. The fans loved them, and he was so grateful that he cooked me dinner.

That was the beginning of our beautiful relationship that all started because I didn't want to use a boring air freshener and had expressed my personality with playful custom car fresheners. Needless to say, I'm definitely going to use custom car fresheners for our "save the date" notices for our wedding and give them out as favors with pictures of our wedding day.

Life just keeps getting better.
